Editorial policy

This journal is written by one desk with one method, and the method is public so it can be argued with. Each page begins as a question a reader would actually ask, is answered at the level of verifiable general knowledge, and is revised when the water, the fee schedules or the regulations move. The craft standards come from long practice in the outdoors and from the public guidance of fish and wildlife agencies, not from private shortcuts.

What every page promises

Figures are banded, never quoted as facts of a specific moment: prices appear as typical ranges, seasons as typical frames, temperatures as working bands, and the reader is pointed to the official source in every case. No secret waters are named and no spot is sold. Safety rules are stated with their reasons, because a rule without a reason gets dropped on the third hard day. Where we describe the businesses of the sport, guides, outfitters, shops, we describe roles and habits, never rankings, and the journal takes no booking of any kind.

Independence and support

The desk accepts no payment for placement inside the guides and names no sponsor inside advice. Any clearly labelled support follows the rules on the sponsored content page. Corrections are the cheapest form of respect: send one through the contact page and it lands in the page it improved, with the archive noting the change.

The method applied

The best way to read the method is to watch it work: the water temperature table shows banding, the license stack page shows fees treated as ranges with clocks, and the release practices page shows every rule stated with its reason. If a page on this site breaks its own promise, the desk wants the letter.
